About CIGRE

Founded in 1921, CIGRE - the International Council on Large Electric Systems – is an international non-profit Association for promoting collaboration on an national and international levels. The CIGRE offers to its more than 11 000 equivalent members composed of researchers, academics, engineers, technicians, CEOs and other decision makers, in-depth technical information and best practices related to electrical power systems. This is possible through the work of 16 Study Committees who supervise more than 2,500 experts from all around the world, who dynamically work together on specific technical domain dealing with Power Systems.

The CIGRE organizes events including the main CIGRE Session (over 3,000 delegates & 3,000 visitors of the technical exhibition) held every even year and in Paris, and Symposia (300 delegates) held every uneven year at different locations. The events allow international experts from the electrical power industry to enhance their knowledge, meet, discuss and network with their counterparts.

CIGRE Central Office which is based in Paris, counts 57 National Committees.
